It's Saturday. I better go work out and get moving with the day. Lots to accomplish. We will see if that happens. Before the trick or treaters come to my door tonight. Happy Halloween!

Halloween with 3 of my nephews

Ben as Han Solo. Note the facial expression and the stance. Apparently this is how Han Solo looks. Karen, their mom and my sister who made my chesire cat costume, also made all the boys' costumes including Ander's head piece.
Ander as Yoda. Yoda, too, has a look and a stance.
Wy as Jeff...the accordian-playing member of the kids' show called the Wiggles.
Such cute boys!

Halloween Tea Party with professional photos...

More photos from our winning department costumes for the work party....
Mike and Larry as a couple of cards.
Me as the chesire cat. I think my sister Karen did an amazing job on the costume and then I drew the face part. The smile.
Venessa as the white rabbit.
Kathy as the Queen of Hearts...Off with their heads...
Julie as the caterpillar.
Jen as the madhatter.
And Lauren as Alice.
Great photos, Casey!!!
And these photos are of our group at the tea party.
I snagged the photos to put on my blog. woohoo. It was a fun day. We won a pizza party.

My sister Deb

Such a cute little face. Deb is a sweet sister.

Halloween at work

This is our group. The blue on the left is the caterpillar. Then we have the card and then the madhatter. On the right is Alice and then the white rabbit and then me- the chesire cat, and then the queen of hearts.

I am the chesire cat. My sister Karen made the costume. I drew the smiley face.

Yah, we are getting so much work done! But hey, have you tried typing or illustrating with pink gloves? Let alone sitting on your stuffed tail?

One of my brothers...with a cookie.

So here is a continuation of the book I did of my family. This is my brother Randy. I guess he liked cookies as a child. He still does. It is fun to do this semi-realistic pencil style.
Have a good Thursday! It is our Halloween party at work today. Meow!

A Cute Little Drawing

Just a little pencil drawing I did of my mom as a baby for a Christmas card a little while back. I think she is quite cute. And still is! I love my mom. She is an amazing person. I am grateful she is in my life.
Happy Wednesday! Off to work I go... Oh, I had a great day at work...Did a little work and then I was treated to a day of having a pedicure with a french manicure and then lunch and then a movie. What a fun and relaxing day! Thanks Stampin' Up! (Oh and my halloween costume is all ready to go for tomorrow. Oh it is a priceless! Hehe. I will post a photo in the next day or so.

Happy Monday!

Just a Quick Glimpse of Summer...

I don't miss the ice cream...but I do miss the warm days that prompt a person to want ice cream. But then I guess some people eat ice cream all year round.
Happy Saturday to everyone. Happy Fall!

Friday, October 23, 2009

And here is her sister Emma

Yes, I liked the richness of the other paper color better. But Emma is still cute even though she looks a little pale.
Happy Friday! I was tired from last night and slept in this morning. Have a nice Friday! Yes, more things to do today. But don't we all have things to do...constantly?

Mom and Dad for another book

Flying High...

A drawing I did a while ago. Just a cute little man, dreaming of being a pilot... I guess. Or maybe going on an adventure. It's good for all of us to go on adventures once in a while. And to dream. Ah, how I love to dream. (Not that I want to be a pilot though.)
Happy Tuesday!

Never Fear

A logo I did for a friend. Yay for superheroes! Or at least my 6 year old nephew thinks they are pretty cool.
Happy Monday! Why do Mondays come so quickly? Maybe I need to recruit a superhero to slow the weekends down so that Mondays don't come quite so quickly...

Squash that Bug!

Oooh, an icky bug! Drew it for a magazine article for Novell Magazine. Yes, it is tiny. Can't appreciate the beauty of it when it is so small...but I guess that is a good thing.
Happy Sunday!

Just a Quick Bunny...

A quick sketch and color of a little wacky bunny.
Yay for Saturday! Off to the track I go and then to continue to tackle my mess of a basement! I just have too much stuff down there. Erk! And to get some drawing done and to watch the BYU game.

Look Closely...

So I love this style I did a while back for a magazine called Executive Excellence. It was SO much fun to do. The style and the colors and the design and the cropping of the image just make me happy. It would be fun to do more of this style.
Yay for Friday! Man, I need to get a lot accomplished today. Lucky that I have the day off.

Good to have the Law

Yes, here is Moses for that book.
Happy Thursday! Glad to be going to the temple tonight. Just a good and calm place.

A book illustration

This is one of the pages of a book I illustrated... oh yes, nothing came of it. Ah well. It was a fun style to create. I especially like the lion on the left...the side view. His profile makes me laugh.
Happy Tuesday!

Just a little early holiday cheer...

Yes, I am running out of pre-created illustrations. So I have resorted to this image. I like it but I know I need to start creating new images...we will see how that goes.
Happy Friday! I have sooooooo much to accomplish this weekend. Work stuff, house stuff, mom stuff.
The temple is amazing. (Just a side note...but an important note in my life.) I was grateful to be there last night. I felt the spirit very strongly.

A Book Cover of Two People who are my whole World

The front page of a book I did of my parents for Christmas a year ago. My mom was born in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and my father was born in Turku, Finland. I am glad that Dad and his parents moved to Vancouver eventually so that they could find each other...so that I could be born. My parents are the best. I love them so much.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Yes...this is not something I created.

I didn't create this because I am in no way "crafty" but it was a good image to open up to this morning. I needed to read this message on this photo today. A lot! Probably because I have not been feeling this way...especially since yesterday. All I can say is I will keep trying and hope that someday I can get ahead. But I have a feeling I will need to work extra hard...and figure out a way to do it on my own.

The Simple Life of a Child

Ah, to be a child again and not have to deal with some stuff that you have to deal with as an adult. Time to go sledding?

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

A Quick Style

Just a quick illustration style.
Have a great day!

A sketch of a little girl

Sketch I did for an Ethiopian dance group logo...
Happy Sunday and 2nd day of Conference.
Goodness...I am tired. Probably cuz I am spending time working on work stuff over the weekend. But it is all good. Needs to be done.

Running. Playing. Winning. Enjoying the fresh air...

An idea for a book illustration. Just some kids. Running. Playing. I especially like the kid in the center at the bottom of the page.
Happy Saturday and Conference! And yeah that BYU won last night. It was fun to be at the game.

Quiet Purple Dogs Unite!

Another of the series of text images...I know you would all want a dog that barks inside his stomach instead of outside especially if you happened to have a headache. And I know you would all want a purple dog too. Happy Friday.

A card line I worked on with a friend a while back

Again nothing came of it but it was fun to do the drawings. Maybe Sadhet can help you... Happy Thursday!
