Saw this today...as I was looking for ideas

Daisy, daisy, give me your answer true...

Daisy, daisy, give me your answer true...I'm half crazy over the love of you... (I think that is how that old-time song goes...)
Anyway, I do love daisies! And here are some that I planted about 5 years ago. They are standing tall and growing strong. They stand about 3 1/2 feet tall now. Woohoo! They are just happy and bright...but strictly just for show since they don't have a fragrance. Ah well. I will forgive them and just enjoy them.

A Sweet Conversation

So my littlest nephew Wyatt who just turned 3 (that I write a lot about...since I see him so much along with his mom who is my sister Karen and her husband Alan and their two other sons Ben and Ander) was talking to his mom (Karen) today while she was giving him a bath and as you read this...just remember this conversation was totally out of the blue...

Wyatt: You sad, Mommy?

Karen: I'm okay, Wyatt. 

Wyatt: You sad about Jason?

Karen: I am okay, Wyatt. I get sad about Jason and I miss him a lot, but I am doing okay.

Wyatt: Jason happy, Mom. Jason happy. Jason happy. Jason happy.

(Wyatt just kept repeating to his mom that Jason is happy...probably about 4 times.)

To me and my family, that conversation between Wy and his Mom means the world. When Karen called and told me what Wyatt had said to her, I just couldn't help feeling how thin the veil is to sweet, little, innocent children on this earth. I KNOW that Wy has seen Jason since he passed on. No question. And more than a few times...just from how Wy-Wy has acted and talked about Jason these past 3 months. And for him to want to share with his mom that Jason is okay just brought tears to my eyes and reminds me of how close Wy is to Jason and what he is doing. For Wy to share that with his mom just was the sweetest thing and touched my heart so profoundly. We miss our Jason terribly at times...but through the words and thoughts of a little 3 year old, we are reminded that Jason is okay. It was a sweet and touching conversation.

The start of the holiday...a long weekend and fun events on top of it all.

Friday, July 3rd...Here go the balloons...lifting off into the sky. The Provo Balloon Festival is pretty fun! Even though you have to get up really early in the morning.

Pig balloon...I like that little air-filled porker.

Having fun with my sister Karen and her two oldest boys. We got there at 6:30 in the morning...yawn! But it was great fun!

Saturday, July 4th...a breakfast at my sister Karen's house in AF that morning....then lazing around awhile during the day and then...Walking into the Lavell Edwards football stadium in Provo, Utah. I love that stadium! I enjoyed a fun evening there last night. Going to Stadium of Fire with friends. My sister Karen and her family went and so did my brother Gary and his family. We were all sitting in different areas of the stadium but we contacted each other by texting and phoning.

Glenn Beck was in the Cougar Club room at the stadium. We came to see him and hear him speak for a little bit. As he walked out he spoke a little to the crowd and he touched my shoulder and said, "Bless you." I thought that was cool. I appreciate what he is trying to do in his life. Some people don't like him... but all I can say is, "To each their own opinion. That is what makes this country great."

Of course I had to wear my patriotic flip flops... 

Dusk starting to fall on thewarm summer night in the stadium as the performers entertained the crowd. The Jonas Brothers were the headline of the show...couldn't get any good pictures of them. But it was pretty cute watching a little 7 year old in the row behind us singing along to their songs. She-Daisy performed also. And Glenn Beck was the master of ceremonies. David Osmond (Alan's son) also took part in the program. They also had a flag burning ceremony at the end of the night. It felt very sacred as they went through all the steps to burn it.

Lots of fun and excitement the whole night through.

Thank you to all those who serve this country and through their sacrifice, we are a free country. May we always be free...and appreciate that we are VERY blessed.

You just can't truly comprehend the adoration...

My littlest nephew turned 3 yesterday. Yes, I see him a lot since they live close by.  He loves the movie "Cars", he loves the tv show "Yo Gabba Gabba", and he ADORES the tv show "The Wiggles". A D O R E S the Wiggles!!!

So he got to have a car cake... made by his mom (my sister Karen). And my mom and I came to the party and we each gave him some Yo Gabba Gabba toys. Of which he was thrilled! 

But it is a good thing that he opened the Yo Gabba Gabba toys first... because right after that his two big brothers each gave him two of the Wiggles action figures (yes, I told my brother-in-law we would call them action figures...just for his peace of mind...his sons do not play with dolls!) So here he is below clutching his Wiggles action figures. When he opened the first two, he kind of went into a trance and started walking away with them mumbling, "Wiggles...Wiggles." We had to call him to come back to open the rest of his presents. Pretty cute photo!
So the picture below kind of gives you an idea of the joy he felt from even one Wiggle action figure...Life is good for the Wy boy!
Here he is with his Wiggles guitar that his parents bought him. You can just push a button and one or all of the Wiggles sing one of their songs. Wyatt just kept repeating, "Wiggles guitar."
All in all a VERY fun celebration! I still can't help smiling at how excited the little guy was.

Tiny Dancer

So here is my cute 7 year old niece Jenna. Yes, she loves to dance. I think she is the cutest thing. Way to go, Jenna!

Dusty Book Behavior

But I think a librarian, who I just got off the phone with, needs to learn some phone etiquette. He was very demeaning as I asked him questions about downloading audio books via the library system. A couple of times during the conversation I wanted to reach through the phone and pop him one!

I think he is cranky cuz his name isn't Marion the Librarian (Reference: The Music Man). Or maybe he is cranky cuz his name IS Marion! ; )

Needless to say, he was not very nice.

I choose to be happy today. It is payday, it is sunny outside, and it is Friday! And I don't want to go around popping people! So I choose to move on from his dusty book behavior. I mean is that necessary? I shout a big NO into cyberspace.

So excited for my weekend to start in 2 hours!!! (Marion, quit being mean. Maybe you need a vacation.)

A Sweet Thing

So baby Wy was walking around his family's house on Sunday morning saying, "Dason, where are you?" He kept repeating it. Finally his mom said, "Wyatt, Jason is in heaven now." And Wy said, "Okay." And stopped calling for him. 

It just gave me a warm feeling when my sister told me what happened. I have always heard that little children are closer to the other side. And I like to think that Wy has seen Jason. And I bet he has.

2 Year Old Artist...Proud Aunt Alert!

So my two year old nephew Wy-Wy (who is almost 3), is following in the footsteps of most of our family. He likes to draw. We are pretty proud of him...Check out his drawings below...

Here are the Wiggles. Not sure if you are all familiar with this kid show. But there are 4 guys in the group who sing and dance. Wy can rattle off their names quickly. Jeff, Muwway (Murray), Antony (Anthony), and I forgot the 4th one's name! (Wy would be mortified that I forgot.) They all wear a different color of shirt and then they all wear black pants. I think the composition is amazing. He is great at the eyes and mouth on each person. Good job, Wy-Wy!  We all think it is pretty cool!

Here is SpongeBob Squarepants. Notice the eyelashes. And the sponge circles. Seriously, I doubt I did that much detail at 2 years old! I am excited to watch Wy-Wy progress in his artistic skills as he grows up. He is pretty good at keeping the color inside the images too.

I am pretty proud of the little guy! Most kids his age basically do scribbles or lines on a paper.
