Monday is here! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Yes- I posted a tomato. And yes, we have turkey for Canadian Thanksgiving...not a tomato. I just hadn't sketched a turkey to post today. But I did have a tomato drawing...so here you go.
My weekend was good. Many church meetings. Finally finished kind of later in the evening. But it is all good. Now to get going with my week...lots to do at work and in the freelance arena... 2 book covers, a drawing of a little girl whose life was cut short. And some YW images for a friend.

Happy Monday!!!

Friday and 10-10-10 coming!

Happy Friday! And get really excited because Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving!

Now on to the 10-10-10...
This Sunday marks the tenth day of the tenth month of 2010 (10-10-10 for short). Ten being the number of perfection.

The number ten has long been meaningful in religions and cultures around the world. Yet, most modern readers do not stop to count these clusters of ten, even though they can be conveniently counted on the fingers of their own two hands. Readers of the Book of Mormon have special cause to take note of the things that happen ten times in that book. While Benjamin, or Alma, or Nephi may have been aware of these perfect instances, one may be assured that Joseph Smith or Oliver Cowdery were not checking off on a ten-point punch list as they experienced these ten-fold repetitions while translating and transcribing the Book of Mormon.

These instances of ten can be organized and analyzed in several ways. It seems appropriate to approach this phenomenon under ten headings: perfection, worthiness, consecration, testing, justice, reverence, penitence, atonement, supplication, and ascension into the holy of holies or highest degree of heaven.

Happy Thursday and all...

Another page from the book I am working on. I know- hard to believe a kid would push away pizza and fries. But they would be much healthier for sure...
Today is a good day. I got a lot done last night. YW went well last night. I got a lot done on the book too. And I worked out too. Love it when I get stuff done.

Happy Thursday! Temple night tonight! Love that for sure!

Go Kiss a Frog Wednesday!

I've decided I like "Rainex". It was raining this morning and my windshield was much clearer after I put Rainex on it last night after work. Yay!

Happy Wednesday! Let's all accomplish great things today!

Tuesday is here...

Happy 10-05-10 today! (It will be fun when it is 10-10-10 in 5 days. Just because. No reason other than it would just be fun to write it.)

Here is one of the illustrations from the book I am working on. Sad little boy image. I like all the colors in the images. Fun to put random color around. It makes me happy. Though he is sad. Don't worry- he gets happy later on.
Not supposed to be quite as rainy today. Cool! I like rain- but the construction that I have to commute through each day does not mix well with anything...even dry roads at times.

Happy Tuesday...all day!

Fun Monday celebrating "the Paula"!

So a sweet friend/co-worker/boss had her birthday celebrated today here at work. Miss Paula! Paula loves the trend of mustaches. So we had this planned for over a month. We are so glad that today finally came!
I drew the card for everyone to sign. Inside the cover of the card, I made a little pocket that holds 4 more mustaches. For her to choose from. Hehe.
Here is the card showing a little more of her face. Here is the banner that Christy and Kathy put together on Friday. They are my co-workers.
And here are the chocolate mustaches that Kathy made.
We also sported fake pink fur mustaches. As it shows in the first photo of this posting...Paula is wearing one.

Happy birthday, cute Miss Paula! You are the BEST!

P.S. Can I tell you how much I love General Conference each 6 months? I feel so uplifted, so thankful, so grateful. A new favorite speaker: Mervin Arnold. He is a member of the Seventy. I am such a sap for feeling the spirit through our church leaders' emotions. It touches my heart.

P.S.S. And I am on the downward part of the hill for getting the book finished! I am SOOOOO excited!

Rabbit, Rabbit Friday! And a Who.

I drew this owl a while back. And a reading program in the East wants to use it for their book bags. Kind of fun. Who-who!

Did you remember to say "rabbit, rabbit"? First thing this morning before you said anything else? Well if you did, you have good luck all this month! Enjoy! Or better luck next month...

Good job, Paula!

Happy Friday! I am going to get so much done this weekend! And it is Conference weekend! Love listening to our amazing prophet and our leaders. I learn so much. And the whole weekend has an amazing spirit and feeling about it. And I always listen better when I am drawing...so I hope to get a lot of drawing done also. It is funny because when I was a child, General Conference seemed to last forever. Now I listen to every word and the time speeds by. Too quickly it is over for another 6 months.

Happy weekend! We have fun stuff planned for my dear friend and boss at work for Monday. It will be a fun day. Enjoy the anticipation, Miss P!
