Was he older like a grandpa? That wouldn't seem so weird to me. But if he was closer to your own age that might be a little strange. I remember when a retired man at the gym used to call me "love." He was old enough to be my Dad so it didn't bother me. :)
Nope he was just a little younger. I think he felt dumb after he said it. Ah well.
That is funny. Well, at least it was a nice thing to say--not like calling you doofus.
