The Cruise for New Beginnings

So, our YW Cruise for New Beginnings "Enjoy the Journey" happens this next week. I hope the girls will enjoy it...

Here are the tags we will be wearing. The brand new Beehives will get the tags that say "New" Cruise Member. And the rest of the girls will have Cruise Member on their tags. I found these tiny clothes pins at a craft store yesterday. I thought they were so cute. So every badge has a little clothes pin to stick the badge on themselves.

I will first welcome everyone and we will have the opening prayer, theme etc. Then I will explain how the evening will go...that we will all go to each stop on the cruise and learn about each of the values. Our bishop will say a few words of welcome and then we will be off on the "cruise". We will move from the Cultural Hall to the nursery to the RS room to the kitchen and back to the Cultural Hall.

The first stop is Port Faith. (The Laurel president will talk about the YW motto and theme for the year which is the 13th Article of Faith.)

Here (at Divine Nature Bay) the Miamaid president talks about the purpose of mutual activities and then the Beehive president follows her and talks about the importance of camp. And all of the girls introduce themselves.

Here (at the Individual Worth & Knowledge Pier) our personal progress leader is going to talk about personal progress and all that the girls can get out of it to really shape their lives and be the best they can be.

Here (at the Choice & Accountability Spa) the girls and parents of the girls get to select their refreshments and learn about choices. (I know- the towel looks a bit odd. Hey, it took me about 6 hours to make all these posters and lay up the badges etc. ; )

Here (at the Isle of Good Works) the new Beehive girls will be spotlighted (a poster is being made for each new Beehive from questions asked to them and pictures displayed of them) by some of our YW girls.

Then at the end, the girls will be led back to the cultural hall (Club Integrity & Virtue) where our Captain (Bishop) welcomes them back from their journey/ tour. I also say a few words to them too and then we have the closing prayer.

So there it is. It should be a fun evening. (And I couldn't think of anything for the "club" image though I guess I could have shown someone doing yoga.) Ah well. The images are done. Yes! Now to pull off the evening. I think it should go pretty smoothly. (UPDATE-the evening went great! I think the girls had a great time.)

The workshops, the boarding passes, the overall program ideas ALL came together SO BEAUTIFULLY! To see my Young Women prepare and carry through with hosting their workshops. it was AMAZING! I had our Beehives and a few Laurels cover the work shops, they basically explained that particular value and what they were doing in Personal Progress to either have completed it or what they were working to complete it. I have built such a stronger relationship with my girls, especially my Beehives. As a Beehive advisor, it was just a night to remember. I am humbled to be amongst such a great group of girls I love them. To even get feedback from the parents, YM Leaders, and especially our Bishopbric because my brother serves as 2nd counselor in our Bishopbric and oversees our Youth, both himself and our Bishop, they were both so impressed!!

It was a BEAUTIFUL New Beginnings overall, I can't thank you enough! May the Lord continue to bless your beautiful sweet spirit in all that you do!! Thanks again Lori for ALL your help! I love and appreciate you for all that you have done to make my 1st New Beginnings such a SWEET SUCCESS!
