Quiet Thursday at work

It is a quiet day at work today. Not many people around. Is it saturday and no one told me?

Anyway, I hope you have some fun excitement today. I hope to also. Teeny little drawing of a dog with a box of surprises!

I have to say that I was grateful to wake up to no surprise of snow! Woohoo! Happy Thursday!

Wednesday is Rainy and Windy

Ah, look...my cute 7 year old nephew Marcus drew some pictures yesterday.
Here is mighty SpongeBob.

And here is handsome Gary the snail.

Aren't they fun drawings? Marcus is just as good as his 3 year old cousin Wy is with a pencil. (It is fun to have guest artist relatives on my blog.)

Supposed to rain and possibly snow today and tomorrow. Ah, Spring! Makes it exciting! And I am glad I didn't blow off the Point this morning.

Hey ho to Tuesday!

And do not disturb...because I am the queen of the world today. ; ) Kidding. But wouldn't everyone want to be "Queen of the World" at least for one day? Oh, maybe not the guys in the world... Happy Tuesday!

It's Monday...and I am slow

Eek. Really slow. Just busy.

Though I do have to say that I have decided I am not a "center of attention" kind of person. Just wanted to throw that out. In fact it stresses me. Ah well.

Sorry no picture. Got too busy today.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Oh my, it's a turtle. ; ) Lots to do today...no being slow like a turtle for me! Off work but lots of stuff to do to catch up...errands, drawing, cleaning, etc. etc. Enjoy the weekend!

It's Thursday

I had to share this cute story that a guy at work told us...

Yesterday morning I let the dogs out and there was a rain storm moving in and you could smell the rain. Shay came out and said, "What you doing da da?" Wanting to show him something new I took a deep breath and said “I smell rain.” Without missing a beat he breathed in deep and said,”No, da da, I smell sunshine.” I smiled and took another deep breath and said,"You know you're right. I smell sunshine too." It rained all day, But I had sunshine.
I hope you smell sunshine today too.

Happy Thursday! It's a great day!!!! So much to be thankful for.

Stormy Wednesday?

Just say no to stormy weather...after our nice warm weather we have been having! Ah well. This is Spring. Supposed to rain today. Or at least storm somewhat. That's okay.

Today will be a good day. Lots to do. As always. Enjoy the weather!

Yep- nothing much to report...other than I got a small freelance job sort of figured out last night. Now to move onto a bigger one that I really am trying to get to.

Tuesday

It's Tuesday. Yay! Time to have fun! Not for any particular reason...but it is a better choice than not having fun, right? So have a little fun today. Come on, you can do it!
Happy Tuesday!

P.S. My nephew Marcus told his mom yesterday that he has a "mybrain" (translation: migraine). Which he doesn't by the way. Such a funny boy. He also told his mom he had amnesia when he was in the bathroom. She asked,"Do you mean diarrhea?" He said yes but that he really didn't have it. Funny 7 year old.

Is it really Monday?

Seriously, how did that happen? I thought I was just starting the weekend...
Oh well. It happens to all of us that the weekend just zips by. Seriously, if anyone can figure out a way to slow it down, let me know!

Helped my sister Deb clean at her old house with our sister Karen most of Saturday. It was hard work but I love hanging out with my sisters.

Then went to a fun dinner party with friends that night. It was great fun visiting with the Petersons, Baldwins, and McGibbons. I think the cutest thing was at the end of the night when little John asked me if I still had my 8 ball on my iphone. I told him that I did. So we played with it. We asked John to ask it a question. He said, "Does someone love me?" (Ah, cute.) And I shook the 8 ball till it said that someone did. Definitely. And he then said, "I bet it is ________" (I can't remember what little girl's name he said. But I found out from his parents that it is someone that he has a little crush on.) It was so cute. Little John is growing up. Anyway it was a fun night seeing how much Erin and Patrick's little guy is growing. Love his dimples and his dark auburn hair. Such a pretty color. And cute little Anna...Julie and Devin are so cute with her. It is fun to see how much she is talking now. It was just a nice relaxing night. With sweet friends.

Happy Monday. Though I am going to pretend it isn't Monday...because it would be much nicer if it was Friday...but then I have a lot to do at work this week so I better stop wishing the week away. So just stop it now, Lori! Be happy it is Monday.

Friiiiiiiiiday! Time to celebrate the often forgotten...

Come on, admit it... how often do you think of the forgotten warthog? I know he got some recognition in a disney cartoon movie a couple of years ago...but really, I think we don't give him enough thought. Yes, he may roll in the mud, snort occasionally, attract flies, and run down a person or animal if they are in it's path... but he has feelings too. Just a thought. (And no, I am not going to go out into the African bush to go hug one for I have a feeling they are not all that cuddly.)
Of course I am at work and it is supposed to be my day off...but that is okay. I will take that day another day. So I thought I'd at least have fun since it is a work day for me. So appreciate the warthog! Come on, you can do it.

P.S. Happy bday, Ché! You are definitely not a warthog. Just so you know.

Happy Thursday!

Yay for purple butterflies...? It is Thursday. A good day for purple butterflies I have heard. Well, maybe I just heard that in my head... ; )
A good day, a busy day, a long day. But that is a Thursday for me.

Have a great sunny day! A Thur"sun"day.

P.S. This image is from a stamp set I did called God's Beauty. For work. About 2 years ago. I quite like it. It looks like it has dimension to it.

Warmer Wednesday!

Glad we don't have to wear mittens anymore...love warm Spring weather!

Wet Tuesday

A little slushy...ish out. Roads were just wet. Spring.

Happy Tuesday! Lots o' stuff to get done at work today. Eek.
I feel the pressure. From all sides.

Happy Monday!

I wonder if male ladybugs hate to be called "lady"bugs? Just wondering. (I think my ladybug is missing a set of legs...oh well.)
A VERY busy weekend helping my mom out this weekend and seeing a lot of family and not getting anything else done. I have to say I am worn out. But it's okay. I'd get worn out for my mom anytime.

I am very blessed.

Pretty Funny!

So my sister Karen and her family do family scripture reading every night. Ben the 8 year old gets his turn to read a scripture. Then Ander the 6 year old. And then Wyatt the 3 year old. Of course Wyatt needs help reading for sure! So then Wyatt always says it is his turn to do it on his own. So he takes the scriptures and asks where he should start reading. Karen points to an area on the page and he begins... "And, verily, Nephi and Adam...." etc. It is hilarious that he says "verily". Just not a little 3 year old's normal word. He makes up his own scriptures but gets some of the words in that are actually in the scriptures. He also makes up his own words too at times.

The funniest Wyatt scripture that she told us about was when Wyatt said, "Hahaha," Joseph Smith said to Jesus. Maybe sounds a little irreverant but I am guessing that Heavenly Father and our Savior have a sense of humor so I could see them laughing with Joseph Smith.

Anyway maybe this post doesn't come across as funny to my faithful readers...but it just made us laugh and laugh. Karen and her husband Alan have to honestly concentrate on not laughing at some of the things their boys do.

Suleepy!

A very long day yesterday. Got to bed at midnight. Up at 5 am. Yah- I am tired. But I accomplished a lot. I hope to get some sleep this weekend. Love my family so much.

Here's a cat to greet you today. Happy Friday!

Always Wanted It...

So, finally I got my wish...that there would be a Vancouver, B.C. temple built. Being born and raised there I just always thought Vancouver should have a temple. And here it is! I think it is so pretty. I need to get out there and see it sometime.
The public open house is from April 9-24th. I hope my aunt's sister and her husband take advantage of this. They aren't members and I think it is an amazing chance to be able to take a tour before it is dedicated. The dedication is Sunday, May 2. So, if you are in the area at that time...

Latter-day Saint temples differ from the meetinghouses or chapels where members meet for Sunday worship services. Temples are considered “houses of the Lord” where Christ’s teachings are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ordinances that unite families for eternity. In the temple, Church members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to follow Jesus Christ and serve their fellow man.

The Vancouver British Columbia Temple is the 131st temple of the Church worldwide and the seventh temple in Canada. Other Canadian temples include Cardston Alberta (dedicated 1923), Toronto Ontario (1990), Halifax Nova Scotia (1999), Regina Saskatchewan (1999), Edmonton Alberta (1999) and Montréal Québec (2000). An eighth Canadian temple to be built in Calgary, Alberta, was announced in October 2008.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints first arrived in British Columbia in 1875. Church growth was slow at first but has steadily increased. Now some 22,000 Church members from 91 congregations located in British Columbia and northern Washington state will be served by the Vancouver British Columbia Temple. A total of nearly 180,000 Latter-day Saints live in Canada.

I love temples and the amazing work that is done in them. I am thankful that I get to be a temple worker. It is a great foundation in my life. I am very blessed.

Happy Thursday! A nice sunny day!

P.S. I have wonderful nieces and nephews. All of them! My sister Tracey's two oldest boys were over at my mom's last night. They are just such good kids. And they are even both teenagers! 13 and 15. Just sweet boys. I really am lucky. Their cousin who is 13 is a great kid too. Just good boys. It's so fun hanging out with them. (This 13 year old just got baptized last week and the missionaries stopped by last night to show him the film "The Restoration"...the story of Joseph Smith. We invited Zach and Elijah to watch it too. I hope it touched their hearts.)

So, it's Wednesday. The sun is shining! I went to the track last night. Just a nice evening. So here's some daylilies...because Spring is finally here! Right? The warm Spring part of Spring.
Happy Wednesday!

It's Tuesday and I'm Sleepy

...And we are still getting snow here! So, Carrot Girl below is praying for warmth. It's far enough into Spring that we really want warm now, okay?
Happy Tuesday! It is a good day. There is blue sky and the roads were dry going to work. Woohoo!
I am grateful for so much. Hey, maybe I will eat a carrot... ; )

Happy Monday!

So it's Monday! My goodness! The weekend zipped by! I've decided that having Fridays off is not a day off. So crazy busy running errands and helping with family stuff. I am more tired on my day off. Actually it is nice because I get to sleep in a little more than if I was running to work at the insane hour that I do.

A great weekend with family and enjoying Conference. Loved every minute of it.

Love you, Dad. Miss you.

May I accomplish Superman feats this week with all that I need to do. And may you also.

A Year

"We believe in the resurrection of the dead, and that as Jesus came forth from the grave to everlasting life, his Spirit and body uniting again never more to be separated, so has he opened the way for every son and daughter of Adam, whether living or dead, to come forth from the grave to a newness of life, to become immortal souls, body and spirit, united, never to be severed any more" (Gospel Doctrine, p. 312).

Love you, Jase. We are proud of you. We miss you. It's been a year of ups and downs. A lot of struggles with missing you...especially this first year. I can imagine that Easter and Conference are an amazing time where you are. You and Dad know that I miss you both so much. Words can't express how much I miss you. This time of year will forever be hard on us missing both of you. I love April Conference but it will always be a tender time for our family.

I am so grateful for my Savior who gave his life for me. For all of us. Happy Easter.

P.S. I love it that President Monson, during the Sunday morning session of Conference, spoke about a boy named Jason who also had to leave the earth too early. It is such a tender significance that his name is Jason on this day of the year mark of losing our Jason. Thank you President Monson. To me it feels like you were also talking about my brother.

P.S.S. Added note...when my father passed away 18 years ago tomorrow, during conference a speaker spoke about a little boy named Jason whose father had recently passed away. The speaker wasn't talking about our family, but how amazing that it was a boy named Jason who lost his Dad and they spoke about it that weekend we lost our Dad. Truly, the heavens speak to us. To comfort us. I know our Jason is a very special spirit. No question. I truly believe that my brother has much to accomplish on the other side. That he was held back here on earth. That now he can accomplish what he was destined to accomplish.

Sometimes I honestly wonder who my brother Jason is and what he is predestined to accomplish. I know he is someone so amazing. I know that more and more each day. No barriers block him now!

Quick post to make up for none on Friday

Such a busy weekend...Thursday night I was privileged to give the opening prayer at my niece Kiley and nephew Kolby's baptisms. It was a beautiful service. Karen gave an amazing talk about baptism and reminded the kids about reading your scriptures, praying morning and night, and attending church regularly. We know Jase was there. And I know he was so proud of them for taking this step in their lives.

Friday I had the day off and I felt like I was running like crazy getting errands run, trying to figure out Easter dinner with everyone and figuring out some things about doing Jason's temple work on the 10th. And arranging us all getting together to go to Jason's grave on Sunday. A year tomorrow. Just so extremely hard to believe.

And today, Karen and I took off for slc to help pack up and move some items to my sister Deb's new home. So excited to have them live closer. I was tired after that. I didn't get home till about an hour ago. Phew. But it was so fun to help Deb and her family with this move.

Now to work on a freelance project and the ward newsletter. Plus a wonderful bonus that it is conference weekend. So wonderful to hear our leaders words of counsel. So grateful.

Happy weekend!

I say "let the beans grow"!

Yes, I say, "Let the beans grow already!" Enough with the snow. ; )

Sigh. I know, I know, it's Spring...but enough with the snow. Oh well. It wasn't too bad driving to work. Had to take it really easy especially when I came upon a small truck that was sideways in the slow lane over the point. In fact I had to literally stop until I could proceed to the middle lane. Oh well. Generally the roads are fine....just had to take it slow.

Happy April Fool's today. And mostly, happy rabbit rabbit day! Hope you remembered.
